Scott founded Rodwin Architecture 1999 (and our construction partner Skycastle in 2001). It has been a hell of a ride and we’re looking forward to the next 20 years. Architecture and construction are professions of creative victories and heart-breaking disappointments. Some of our best work never made it into material form, but so many of the projects we’ve completed continue to bring us and their owners joy.
Most people don’t know that we also have a guiding set of principals Scott created a couple of decades ago: BASIC (Balance, Awareness, Simplicity, Integrity and Compassion). It’s what guides us to treat our clients as we would wish to be treated. It’s why we listen well and keep our egos in check. Perhaps it why we’ve never been sued. It why we don’t take shortcuts. Why every project has a unique solution that is custom tailored to the needs, goals and personality of our clients. It’s why we strive to create buildings of enduring value for our clients, and deep sustainability for our community and planet. It’s why we engage in public policy and teach at universities and to our peers. It’s why we love coming to work every day
On this, the anniversary of our or 20th anniversary, we’d like to thank the many people who have given us the privilege of creating architecture we can be proud of: our wonderful clients, engineers, consultants, builders, tradesmen, artisans, material suppliers, code officials and all of our staff past and present. It takes a fantastic team to make each of these projects and we have been honored to work with wonderful folks who have trusted us with their life savings, their reputations and their dreams.
