In 2024, Rodwin Architecture’s Shannon Wehner, AIA, led the Colorado Green Building Guild (CGBG) as President, driving a year of significant growth and impact thanks to an engaged board and dedicated volunteers. CGBG has been instrumental over the last few years in advancing knowledge of residential electrification and bringing resources to homeowners and the building community for energy-efficient reconstruction following the Marshall Fire. This past year, 400 attendees participated in a dozen educational events and four hard hat tours of active construction projects. The annual Green Home Tour showcased eight innovative green homes, including several high-performance rebuilds following the Marshall Fire. Under her leadership, the Guild launched a new chapter in Fort Collins and laid the groundwork for a new Mid-Rockies (MidRo) chapter, set to launch in 2025, serving the design and building communities of Leadville, Buena Vista, Salida, and neighboring communities. The Guild awarded $33,000 in scholarships for advanced green building training, furthering education and professional development in sustainable construction. CGBG introduced an innovative metric to be used in real estate listings, an "Energy Dollars per Year" (EDY) proposal, and garnered interest from state leaders.
