South Boulder Ranch is a conceptual project consisting of three luxury single family estates - West View, Hilltop View and Creek View. Located approximately 10 miles South of Boulder, the South Boulder Ranch site is regarded by many as the last of the Wild, Wild West. The 600 acres of pristine Colorado Foothills includes both native American campsites and 150 years of cattle ranching history. Each of the three homes were specifically designed to capture the beauty of the surrounding land, each in their own unique way. A natural material palette of stone and wood inform the façades, with generous walls of glass to capture the beauty of the site.
West View sits atop the tallest point of the Ranch. The west façade captures a view of the foothills that simply no other house in Colorado can offer. The proximity and orientation of the guest suite, garage, and pool house creates a spacious yet secured courtyard nestled in the surrounding woodlands, offering privacy and tranquility to anyone who occupies the space.
Hilltop View is perched along the same hilltop as West View, overlooking the Coal Creek valley and vast grass plains to the east. The form of the house consists of six major blocks of program / large outdoor rooms. Changes in floor elevations were strategically designed to respond to the sloping site and offer panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. The south-east façade boasts generous glass proportions and an infinity pool perched over the Coal Creek valley, with views reaching all the way to Denver on a clear day!
Creek View is located in the Coal Creek Valley. An entertainment and private wing flank either side of the main living space. The sloping rooftops open up to the west, capturing not only the beauty of Coal Creek, but specific elements of the foothills beyond. A waterfall inspired path leads from the vast deck space down to an outdoor pavilion situated on the banks of Coal Creek.
