SCOTT RODWIN, CEO

Scott Rodwin, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB is the CEO of Skycastle Construction and Principal of Rodwin Architecture. He was named the 2006 “Young Architect of the Year” by the AIA for the Western Mountain Region, and was one of Colorado Construction’s 2009 Top 20 Under 40. He has been a leader in the green building field for twenty five years, and has won more than two dozen local and national sustainable design awards. Scott has taught residential green building for the City of Boulder, the American Institute of Architects, USGBC, the Colorado Green Building Guild and currently teaches Green Building at Naropa University. Scott’s love of the Architect-led design/build process began while he was working as a framer on construction sites in college. He received his architectural degree from Cornell University in 1991.




BRANDON DAVID, PRESIDENT

Brandon David, LEED AP, is the President of Skycastle Construction. He has over 25 years of hands-on experience in residential and commercial building in the Rocky Mountain area. After moving to Boulder in 1999, he worked as a lead for a high-end custom green home builder until 2006, when he joined Skycastle Construction. His passion for design/build has led to a career in architecture, where he uses his broad construction expertise to create high quality, thoughtfully-crafted buildings. He brings an impeccable level of personal integrity and calm, clear communication to the process. Brandon worked on the National Champion C.U. Solar Decathlon project. He received his B.S. in Architecture with Honors from the University of Utah in 1999 and a Bachelors of Environmental Design with Honors from the University of Colorado in 2004. He is the proud father of three young children and loves having adventures with his wife and family.




KATH D'SOUZA

Kath D’Souza is the Office Manager for Rodwin Architecture and Skycastle Construction. Born and raised in London, England, Kath has been a Boulder resident for over 20 years, has experience in office administration and customer service, and has a passion for architecture, design and interiors. When not working, she can be found spending time with her husband and three children, cooking, kickboxing, yoga, and traveling extensively whenever she can.




JIM KADLECEK, STUDIO DIRECTOR AND SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Jim Kadlecek, Studio Director and Senior Associate, is a Project Manager/Senior Architectural Designer for Rodwin Architecture. He’s a native of northern Colorado, and has spent many years working in architectural design, real estate, new construction and remodeling. He has a background in both residential and light commercial development. After years of practical experience, Jim returned to school and studied architecture at the University of Colorado, Boulder. When he’s not at work you’ll find Jim cycling or playing with his grandkids… and on a good day, both.




CECELIA KANE, SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Cecelia Kane, Senior Associate, is a Project Manager/Senior Architectural Designer at Rodwin Architecture. Born and raised in the Rocky Mountains, a broad range of interests and abilities steered Cecelia toward the field of architecture, where the combination of technology and creativity suited her perfectly. Hungry for higher education and the excitement of studying out of state, Cecelia earned her B.S. as well as her Masters in Architecture from Washington State University – go Cougs! Recognizing the potential and increasing necessity for smart, retrofit design, Cecelia’s thesis focused on adaptive reuse, and she is excited to apply her knowledge in her native environment.




JOCELYN PARLAPIANO, SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Jocelyn Parlapiano, Senior Associate, is a Project Manager/Senior Architectural Designer for Rodwin Architecture and Skycastle Construction. She brings to the team experience and passion for custom residential design. After receiving her B.F.A in Visual Theory and Aesthetics from the University of Buffalo, NY, Jocelyn went on to earn her Masters of Architecture and Design-Build Certification from the University of Colorado at Denver. Her interest in design and construction has always been a driving aspect in all her ventures. She strives for the optimal blend of form and function while keeping in mind sustainable practices and construct-ability. When Jocelyn is not working in the office or onsite, she is most likely spending time in the backcountry with her family.




FERNANDO GONZALEZ, SENIOR ASSOCIATE

Fernando Gonzalez, Senior Associate, is a Project Manager/Senior Architectural Designer at Rodwin Architecture. He has a background in commercial and educational architecture. A significant part of his childhood was spent in Mexico, where he was exposed to the importance of having a sense of community in the built environment. His natural attraction to beauty, creativity, and exploring connection between people and their surroundings not only led him to a career in architecture, but also drives his passion for design, soccer, and dance. Fernando earned his Master of Architecture degree from Texas Tech University in 2006. A year later, he moved to Colorado, fell in love with it, and has been living here since. His interest in sustainable and affordable design eventually led him to join Rodwin Architecture.




BLAKE SULLIVAN, ASSOCIATE

Blake Sullivan, AIA, is an Associate, Architect, and Project Manager at Rodwin Architecture. Having grown up around the entire country and abroad, Blake has been at home in Boulder for over twenty years. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from The University of Colorado. His unwavering curiosity surrounding the built environment has driven his passions for sustainable design and construction methodologies. Having experience working in both the residential and commercial sectors, he has been fortunate to design a broad range of project types throughout his career. Blake finds great joy in the design process and working to meet the functional needs of clients while exploring timeless and contemporary aesthetics. When not at work or obsessing about all things design, Blake can be found in the garden, cooking, cycling or spending time with his teenage daughter.




SHANNON WEHNER, ASSOCIATE

Shannon Wehner, AIA, is an Associate, Architect and Project Manager at Rodwin Architecture. Shannon calls the mountains of Colorado home after growing up in the desert of New Mexico. Having graduated with a BA Arch from the University of New Mexico in 2013, she joins the team with experience ranging from residential and commercial custom millwork design and fabrication, commercial kitchen design and project management, and high-end custom residential architecture. Shannon is a Wellness Within Your Walls Certified Professional and enjoys creating spaces that are sustainable for both the residents and the planet. Outside of the office you can find Shannon hiking, running, and backpacking with her rescue pup, Shadow, finding creative ways to eliminate plastic from her life, gardening, baking, and cheering on Liverpool Football Club (YNWA!).




KRISTEN HEITFELD, ASSOCIATE

Kristen Heitfeld, AIA, NCARB, is an Associate, Architect and Project Manager at Rodwin Architecture. Growing up with engineering and artistic influences from both sides of the family, she fell in love with architecture at a young age. After spending her youth sketching houses, designing buildings with Legos, following the progress of her parents' remodel, and winning three hand drafting and design competitions in high school, she went on to earn her Bachelor of Architecture Degree from California Polytechnic State University in 2012. Being a Colorado Native, she left the West Coast to return home to the mountains shortly after graduation. She joins the team with production, remodel, and custom residential experience, graphic design experience, and interior design experience of high-end custom Airstreams. The joy of creating spaces that bring clients' dreams to life fuels her passion for design that is meaningful and lasting. Outside of the office you can find Kristen enjoying time with her pets and family, sketching, crafting, and reading.




KRISTIN ZURO

Kristin Zuro, AIA, is an Architect and Project Manager at Rodwin Architecture. Kristin has spent the majority of her career designing high-end custom residences. She earned a B.A. in Architecture and a B.S. in Geography from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2011. Kristin completed her Masters of Architecture in 2015 at the University of Colorado, Denver. Kristin’s design approach centers on creating vibrant authentic architecture that inspires a sense of wellbeing, and her aesthetic often blends indoor and outdoor spaces, promoting a sense of flow with the exterior landscape. She enjoys closely collaborating with clients to develop architectural solutions that are both functional and timeless. Outside the office, Kristin loves to travel, do yoga, and garden. She spends most of her time outdoors, hiking, paddle boarding, and camping.




DAN BRANNON

Dan Brannon is a Project Manager/Senior Architectural Designer at Rodwin Architecture. Native to Colorado and passionate about the built environment, his interests focus on digital fabrication practices. Exposed to advanced construction techniques while earning his Bachelor of Environmental Design at the University of Colorado Boulder, after graduating in 2015 Dan began using additive and subtractive manufacturing to produce home furnishings at a variety of scales. 3D-printing and its growing applications in the architectural field are of particular excitement to him. When Dan isn’t busy with architecture or product design, you can find him bothering neighbors behind the drum set or boarding the slopes.




SNEHA ARVIND

Sneha Arvind is an Architectural Designer at Rodwin Architecture. Originally from India with the majority of her childhood spent in Dubai, Sneha has had a passion for arts and crafts from a very young age, with heavy influences from creative members of her family. The blend of science, engineering and her vivid imagination made her fall in love with the world of architecture. Having pursued her B. Arch. and starting her career in Dubai, she wanted to gain more knowledge and experience in creating socially responsive design, which lead her to pursue her M. Arch at the University of Minnesota in 2018. Her thesis explored the conditions of street children in India and society’s response to them. She designed spaces that create meaningful, visual and physical interactions that help bridge the gap that psychologically separates the two worlds. Sneha enjoys adventure sports such as bungee jumping, paragliding, white and black water rafting, and snowmobiling. While at home, she loves to dance, design clothes and read.




MICHELLE ROPSON

Michelle Ropson is an Architectural Designer/LEED AP at Rodwin Architecture. She began her career in Wisconsin working as a Residential Designer and running her own small business, while raising her two children. During frequent visits with relatives in Steamboat, she fell in love with the Rocky Mountains. An avid skier, hiker and camper, the mountains drew her to permanently relocate to Colorado in 2013. Always intent on furthering her education, she returned to school earning her Master’s in Architecture from University of Colorado-Denver in 2020 and was part of the 2018 Colorado Building Workshop’s Design/Build cabin project at Cottonwood Gulch in Thoreau, New Mexico in 2018. In her free time, she also enjoys reading, fostering dogs, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity, remodeling homes, building custom and upcycled furniture, along with other crafts using recycled materials.




JEREMY CAMPBELL

Jeremy Campbell is an Architectural Designer at Rodwin Architecture. He has had a fascination and appreciation for the built environment from a very young age. Born and raised in Southeast Wisconsin, Jeremy is no stranger to the snow and cold. He completed both his B. Arch and M. Arch degrees close to home at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. During his time at UWM, Jeremy won several design awards including one for “Best Design of a Student Residency”. His interest in residential architecture and sustainability grew even more while completing his Master’s thesis. Titled ‘Containers & Communities’, the project focused on creating an ecologically friendly urban development along a damaged riverfront site in Milwaukee, WI. The design featured a mixed income housing development using repurposed shipping containers, along with an emphasis on restoring the natural wetland features critical to the river’s health. Outside of architectural design, Jeremy enjoys playing his drum kit, ukulele, and producing music as other ways to express his creativity.




JOSH DUSBABEK

Joshua Dusbabek is a Junior Architectural Designer at Rodwin Architecture and a recent graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder's program of Environmental Design in Architecture. He has several years of construction experience, and has an ever-growing passion and interest for architecture and design. When he is not in the office, Josh enjoys running, weight training, skiing, and painting.




RICHARD HART

Richard is our Accountant and has been with Rodwin Architecture & Skycastle Construction since 2004. With over 40 years experience as a book-keeper, when he’s not crunching numbers, Richard can often be found navigating the rapids in his canoe, hiking and skiing in our beautiful mountains, or catching a show at Red Rocks.
